One of Tecnomodel’s many recent new announcements is a quartet of 1:18 replicas of the little Lotus 19 sportscar racer.

Two of these are race-winning machines for the legendary Stirling Moss. Taking them chronologically, the first one is his victorious silver #1 example from the 1960 Karlskoga Grand Prix in Sweden. After missing most of the racing summer because of serious injuries sustained in a practice accident for the Belgian Grand Prix, Stirling made his comeback in the Karlskoga race. In a particularly wet encounter, he raced with a ‘bubble’ visor for the first time. He took the win from Jo Bonnier’s Maserati Birdcage.

Next up is Stirling’s winning Lotus 19 from the Laguna Seca round of the 1961 USAC series. Moss won both heats of the event in his light green #7 car to take an emphatic victory.

Away from Stirling Moss, the metallic blue #6 example was raced to victory by Innes Ireland in the 1962 Nassau Grand Prix, which was held in the Bahamas. Finally, the red #96 version was taken to victory lane by Dan Gurney in the 1962 Daytona 3 Hours, in the days before the race was one of the 24 hour classics.
