Craig Breen scored a sensational second place finish in last year’s Rally Sweden, having fought tooth and nail with eventual winner Ott Tanak.

Sadly this would prove to be the eighth and final podium finish of the immensely likeable Irishman’s career, as well as his last ever WRC appearance, as he would pass away after an accident during testing for the Croatia round.

In the Croatia Rally the Hyundai team ran a Craig Breen ‘tribute’ livery, with its cars of Thierry Neuville and Esapekka Lappi running in the colours of the Irish flag.

Neuville was leading the event when he crashed out on the second day, rejoining on the final leg to win the Power Stage. Lappi rounded out the podium with a third place finish.
