Minichamps 1:12 Rossi 2021 Yamaha diecast model bike review
Published on: 21 June 2023
Minichamps recently released its 1:12 replicas of the great Valentino Rossi’s last three MotoGP bikes! They are all Petronas-liveried Yamaha YZR-M1s from his swansong season of grand prix racing: 2021.
There are few sports personalities that have owned any sport in the way that The Doctor did. He amassed a greater fanbase than MotoGP itself, with the championship now missing his presence greatly.
With nine world championships under his belt, including seven in the premier class, Vale fully deserved his oft-used nickname of the goat (greatest of all time). He may have gone the final four seasons of his career without a race win, but that’s only because he loved motorbike racing so much that he couldn’t bear to walk awayfrom it. You don’t get many MotoGP riders racing into their 40s.
Rossi moved across to the satellite Petronas Yamaha team for his farewell tour. He only troubled the top 10 on four occasions, but fittingly one of those occurrences was in his very last MotoGP race, where he rode out of his skin to take the chequered flag in 10th position. Of course, the Valencia ‘last race special’ is one of the three 1:12 replicas of the Italian’s 2021 Yamaha that Minichamps has produced. The other two are a ‘standard season’ version that he raced for the majority of the campaign, and the machine that he rode in pre-season testing in Qatar.
