Charles Leclerc started his single-seater journey in 2014, finishing second in the Formula Renault 2.0 championship in 2014 before placing fourth in the Formula 3 European Championship a year later. He took the next two rungs on the ladder by storm, winning the GP3 championship at his first attempt in 2016 and doing the same thing in Formula 2 the following season.

 

The Monegasque made his Formula One debut in 2018; he was contracted with Ferrari, which placed him in the Alfa Romeo squad for his rookie season. He greatly impressed, finishing in the points on 10 occasions, and did enough to earn promotion to the Ferrari Formula One team for 2019.

 

During that first season with the Scuderia Leclerc scored his first two Formula One wins, back to back at the Belgian and Italian Grands Prix. He also added a further eight podium finishes. Ferrari wasn’t as competitive during the next two campaigns, Charles only taking home three trophies across 2020 and 2021.

 

Ferrari was much more on it in 2022, Leclerc winning on three occasions, but a combination of unreliability and questionable strategy calls dented his championship challenge. He would end the year runner-up in the drivers’ championship as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen ended up dominating the season. In 2023 the Ferrari man stood on the podium in half a dozen instances, but never on the top step.

 

In 2024 Leclerc finally won his home grand prix in Monaco, after coming painfully close on several previous occasions. He also won his team’s home race in Monza.
