Norev Jaguar E-Type Cabriolet 1962 - English White 1:12 model car Product Information
Norev 1:12 diecast model of the 1962 Jaguar E-Type Cabriolet in English White. The Jaguar E-Type can legitimately lay claim to being the most beautiful road car ever produced. The only other car that can even hold a candle to it in the looks department is the Ferrari 250 GTO, and even Enzo Ferrari himself conceded that the E-Type was 'the most beautiful car ever made'. The E-Type was introduced in March 1961; initially for export only. It wasn't available domestically until July that year. These first Series 1s used the triple SU carburetted 3.8 litre six-cylinder Jaguar XK engine from the XK150S. The engine size was increased to 4.2 litres in 1964. It produced the same power as the 3.8 litre unit (265 bhp), and generated the same top speed (150 mph), but maximum power was now reached at 5,400 rpm instead of 5,500 rpm, which enabled an improved throttle response. As had been commonplace with British cars built since the mid-1950s, the E-Type featured four-wheel disc brakes (in-board at the rear). This put the car's braking performance far and away ahead of anything that could be offered by its Italian and German rivals. The main distinguishing feature of Series 1 Jaguar E-Types are their glass-covered headlights.
