AUTOart McLaren MP4/6 - 1991 Japanese Grand Prix - #1 A. Senna 1:18 Product Information

AUTOart 1:18 diecast composite replica of the #1 McLaren MP4/6 as driven by Ayrton Senna in the 1991 Japanese Grand Prix. Senna came out of the blocks running in 1991, winning the first four races of the season, which at the time was a new record. The Brazilian then failed to win a race over the middle third of the year, as a hat trick of victories for Williams’ Nigel Mansell saw the Englishman close to within just eight points of the McLaren driver. Ayrton then returned to the top step of the podium in Hungary and Belgium, regaining the championship initiative. Coming into the penultimate race of the season in Japan, he just had to follow Mansell home to secure his third world championship. In the event, the matter was settled at the beginning of the 10th lap when Nigel spun out of the race. Now assured of the title, Senna graciously gave up victory in the race at the very last corner to team-mate Gerhard Berger. AUTOart has really gone to town on this 1:18 replica, as it comes complete with removable front and rear bodywork. This allows you to view details like the shock absorbers in front of the steering wheel, and the intricacies of the exhaust pipes from the Honda V12 engine. Model comes with 'McLaren' decals applied.
