12 Art 1:12 resin model of the #59 Aston Martin DB4 GT as driven by Hubert Patthey and Renaud Calderari in the 1959 Le Mans 24 Hours. An engine failure prevented the car from reaching the finish. The DB4 grand tourer was produced from 1958, while the high-performance GT version was introduced the following year. It featured enclosed headlights, and a thinner aluminium skin for lighter weight. It was under the bonnet where the key differences could be found however, as the DB4 GT’s engine had two spark plugs per cylinder with two distributors and three twin-choke Weber carburettors. The cylinder heads were also modified, contributing to a top speed of 153 mph.
