Renault decided to rebrand its Formula One team to Alpine for the 2021 F1 world championship. Its drivers were Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, with the Frenchman winning the bonkers race that was the Hungarian Grand Prix. Alonso scored a podium in Qatar, while several further points finishes for the two drivers saw the team place fifth in the constructors’ championship.

Alonso and Ocon remained on board for the 2022 season, and although the French squad failed to score a podium it did improve a place in the teams’ table, ending the year fourth in the points.

For 2023 Pierre Gasly replaced Alonso. He and Ocon each scored a third place allied to several other points finishes, but the team slipped to sixth in the standings.

Gasly and Ocon remained as Alpine’s two drivers for the 2024 Formula One season, the team again finishing sixth in the constructors' championship, mainly thanks to both drivers finishing on the podium in the rain-hit Brazilian Grand Prix.

For 2025 Gasly stays with the French squad, being joined by Australian rookie Jack Doohan.
