Haas was the last completely brand new team to enter the Formula One world championship, in 2016. Its drivers for its first season were Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutierrez, the Frenchman impressively finishing sixth and fifth in the outfit’s first two races. After that points finishes were harder to come by, with Gutierrez failing to score at all during the season. The team placed eighth in the constructors’ points in its inaugural campaign.

For 2017 Kevin Magnussen replaced Gutierrez, and he would remain teamed with Grosjean for four years. During that period the team’s best performance occurred in 2018, when both drivers scored several decent points finishes to elevate the team to fifth in the constructors’ standings; its best result to date.

Towards the end of the 2020 season Grosjean suffered his horrific fiery accident at the Bahrain Grand Prix, from which he was lucky to emerge with his life. Haas swapped experience for youth for the 2021 campaign, replacing Grosjean and Magnussen with Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin. It would prove to be a literally pointless season for the team. Magnussen was then brought back to the team in 2022, to replace Mazepin who was let go in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Magnussen and Schumacher scored a handful of points finishes between them which allowed Haas to place eighth in the teams’ points.

In 2023 Nico Hulkenberg replaced Schumacher. He and Magnussen would only score a handful of points finishes between them, with Haas slipping to 10th/last in the constructors’ standings.

Hulkenberg and Magnussen remained with Haas for the 2024 Formula One world championship, with several decent points finishes (particularly towards the end of the season) elevating the squad to a best yet seventh in the teams' points.

Haas has two new drivers for 2025, in the form of Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman.
